Denmark’s museum for man’s relationship to the sea, the culture that has unfolded around it and life below sea level.
Spend a day at the Fisheries and Maritime Museum in Esbjerg. There is a lot to experience and even more to look at.
A sea of stories – The Fisheries and Maritime Museum in Esbjerg is Denmark’s museum for man’s relationship to the sea, the culture that has unfolded around it and life below sea level. Since 1968, we have collected and disseminated Denmark’s maritime history.
Offshore – Visit our large offshore exhibition, which provides a fantastic insight into everything from oil and gas extraction to how life is on a drilling platform.
The seals – The seals are our permanent residents. Come to one of the daily receivables at. 11.00 and 14.30, where you can get very close to Denmark’s largest marine mammal.
In addition, we can offer all year round:
environments from the Port of Esbjerg ▪ bunkers from World War II ▪ wooden ships in the open air ▪ aquariums ▪ feeler pool ▪ birds ▪ whale skeletons ▪ exhibition about the Wadden Sea ▪ invasive species ▪ large playground ▪ cafe
