Le Blanc-Mesnil is a French commune located in the department of Seine-Saint-Denis , in the region Île-de-France , seven kilometers of boulevards of the Marshals and peripheral northeast of Paris .

Its inhabitants are called: Les Blanc-Mesnilois and Blanc-Mesniloises .

Located in the southern part of the plain of France today largely urbanized, the city, without particular relief, is crossed to the north by the Morea , a watercourse today channeled and delimited to the south by the Molette , physically more present surface.


Le Blanc-Mesnil is served by Le Blanc-Mesnil station on Paris RER line B.

Le Blanc-Mesnil is also served by Drancy station on Paris RER line B. This station (formerly called Blanc-Mesnil-Drancy), is the closest from the town center of Le Blanc-Mesnil and is thus used by people in Le Blanc-Mesnil.

The bus company provides 17 lines of buses to travel within the city.

2.5 km (1.6 mi) from Le Bourget airport, 7 km (4.3 mi) from Charles de Gaulle Airport and 4.5 km (2.8 mi) from Parc des Expositions de Villepinte, you will be ideally place to get to Parc Astérix and Disneyland as well as the centre of Paris and the Stade de France.

Regarding health, the city is equipped with 2 municipal health centers containing 30 doctors and 10 paramedics, 2 hospitals, 1 medico-sports center and 4 maternal and child protection center.


The city has 6 multi-centers for young children as well as an early childhood relay. The city also has 34 schools including 17 nursery schools and 17 elementary schools, 5 public colleges and 3 public high schools. The schools come under the Créteil academy.


The city of Blanc-Mesnil has many cultural establishments including:

  • The Blanc-Mesnil theater has a hall with a capacity of 736 seats.
  • The city’s conservatory allows students to study musical instruments, dance and play in an orchestra.
  • The Édouard Glissant media library and the Jean Jaurès ludo-media library provide residents with all kinds of resources such as books, newspapers and magazines, films, documentaries, music and toys. These establishments also offer cultural activities.
  • The two-room kitchen is a musical establishment that includes 7 recording studios , 1 concert hall and 1 dance studio.
  • The Louis Daquin cinema offers films for the general public and contains 3 theaters with a total capacity of 450 seats. The cinema can also show films in 3D.
  • Since 2016, the Maison d’Art Pluralium is a pavilion with a 300m² garden offering visitors the opportunity to discover a small art park: immersive and interactive artistic installations in a garden decorated with sculptures.

From its rural history, Blanc-Mesnil today retains important architectural traces. In the xx th  century , the achievements of architects, Andre Lurcat , Georges Candilis and workshops Jean Prouvé , and the presence of contemporary sculptures, allow to give an urban setting between tradition and modernity.

The city also has an important astronaut museum in France: the Air and Space Museum . It also has in its name an international private airport: Paris-Le Bourget Airport .
