The construction of the Nymburk hospital was completed in 1881 and on December 14 it was granted the status of a public general institute by the relevant Czech ministry.
On January 31, 1882, the hospital was consecrated and named “District Hospital of Crown Prince Rudolf in Nymburk” and the operation was ceremoniously opened the following day.
The then district mayor Mr. Josef Seigerschmiedt has personal credit for the establishment of the hospital, and his successor, Mr. Josef Hampl, a landowner in Bobnice, took care of further expansion.
