The Royal Palace of Gödöllő or Grassalkovich Castle is an imperial and royal Hungarian palace located in the municipality of Gödöllő in Pest county, central Hungary. It is famous for being a favourite place of Queen Elisabeth of Hungary.
During the Communist era, much of the building fell into disrepair, although some wings were used as an old people’s home during this time.
Restoration work has since been completed, and the palace has now reopened to visitors. The park and grounds are open daily, although sections of the grounds may be closed in bad weather.
