The Alojzij Šuštar Primary School

The Alojzij Šuštar Primary School is a nine-year private Catholic school and is the only Catholic primary school in the country. The school strives to foster the development of each child’s capabilities and talents to the greatest possible extent.

In addition to the obligatory subjects which are taught in all state schools, it offers the following subjects: Encountering Religion or Religion and Culture, classical culture with Latin and practicum. It is attended by 450 children aged between 6 and 14.

The school was founded on 1th September 2007 by Archbishop msgr. Alojz Uran; classes commenced a year later. For seven years classes were held in the central building, but on 1st September 2014 it moved to the newly constructed building next to the Institution. In the academic year 2018/2019 the school is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its establishment.

The celebratory motto Youth Woven for Sparks of Sun summarizes the school’s beliefs, endeavours and aspirations.
